March brings fresh energy and new opportunities. After the long stretch of February (good riddance!), it feels good to welcome spring and all the activity it inspires. This March promises to be a busy month, packed with creative work and a chance to give back to the community.
Recording New Tracks at Beneath the Sun Studios
The band is heading back to Beneath the Sun Studios in Hicksville on March 8th. This studio has become a favorite spot thanks to its relaxed atmosphere and excellent sound quality. The plan is to record a batch of raw, ratty punk songs that capture the spirit of the band’s energy and attitude.
Recording at Beneath the Sun Studios means working with Mick, who understands the punk genre and knows how to bring out the best in each track. The studio’s setup allows for quick takes and spontaneous creativity, which suits the band’s style perfectly. This session will add fresh material to the band’s growing catalog and set the stage for upcoming releases.
Mixing with Wishcraft Studio to Polish the Sound
After recording, the next step is mixing the tracks with Glenn from Wishcraft Studio. Mixing is a crucial phase where the raw recordings are balanced, enhanced, and shaped into a final product that sounds great on all kinds of speakers. Wishcraft Studio has a reputation for attention to detail and a deep understanding of punk music’s unique sound.
The collaboration between the band and Wishcraft Studio will focus on preserving the gritty, authentic feel of the songs while ensuring clarity and punch. This process takes time and care, but it’s essential to deliver music that fans will appreciate and enjoy.
Preparing for the Release of New Music
Once mixing is complete, the band will shift focus to the work involved in releasing the new songs. This includes everything from designing cover art and planning distribution to promoting the release through various channels. Releasing music today requires a mix of creativity and strategy to reach the right audience.
Charity Gig for the New York City Children’s Center
On March 20th, the band will host a charity gig at the Bridge and Tunnel Brewery. This event is dedicated to supporting the New York City Children’s Center, a charity that helps abused children find safety and healing. All proceeds from the gig will go directly to the charity.
The New York City Children’s Center plays a vital role in the community by providing shelter, counseling, and support services to children who have experienced trauma. Supporting this cause aligns with the band’s values of standing up for those who need help and making a positive impact beyond music.
The charity gig promises to be a night of powerful music and meaningful connection. Fans will have the chance to enjoy live performances by the New York Rats, Ava Lena. Atomic Wranglers, the Sleepaways and perhaps a special guest, while contributing to a cause that makes a real difference.
Why March Matters
This month combines creativity, hard work, and compassion. Recording and mixing new music keeps the band’s artistic momentum going. Meanwhile, the charity gig offers a chance to give back and raise awareness for an important cause.
For fans and supporters, March is an invitation to be part of something bigger. Whether it’s by attending the charity event or listening to new songs
, everyone can contribute to the band’s journey and the community’s well-being.
Looking Ahead
As spring approaches, the energy of March sets a strong tone for the months ahead. The band’s dedication to their craft and their community shows how music can be both a personal expression and a force for good.
Stay tuned for updates on the new music release and details about the charity gig. Mark your calendar for March 20th and consider joining the event to support the New York City Children’s Center. Thanks!
