Sum, sum summertime!

It's June now. We had a hectic May, during which we performed two shows. One was at Baker Falls and the other at Bridge and Tunnel Brewery. Both performances were highly successful. I'm extremely proud of our band, as we keep improving with every performance.

The next event is at the Delancey on June 6. It's a fantastic venue that I've been eager to book for us for some time. After this, we have a summer break and will perform again in late July. More details will be provided soon.

Enjoy some hot fun in the summertime! If it gets overwhelming, just remember how brutal February was.

Two opportunities to SEE us this month.
Two opportunities to SEE us this month.

May is shaping up to be a big month for New York Rats, and we’re so ready to hit the stage.

We’ve got two shows lined up: May 15 at Baker Falls—our first time playing there—and May 29 at The Bridge and Tunnel Brewery, a spot we know and love. Whether it’s your first time seeing us or you’ve been with us from the start, come out and make some noise with us.

On the music front, things are moving fast. Our three new singles, along with our past releases, have pushed us past 32,000 streams across all platforms. We’re also getting worldwide radio play and landing on playlists, which is huge for us. We appreciate every listen, every share, and every bit of support.

We also want to give a special shout-out to Tony Priest from Texas, who reached out for an autographed print for his man cave. That kind of support means a lot to us—thank you, Tony.

Spring brings fresh energy and new opportunities, and the New York Rats are riding this wave with excitement. March was a month full of achievements and memorable moments for the band. From a successful charity gig to recording new music and connecting with fellow musicians, the momentum is strong. Now, as April unfolds, the band is gearing up for more creativity and live performances. Here’s a look back at what made March special and what fans can expect next.

Reflecting on a Productive March

March was a busy and rewarding month for the New York Rats. One of the highlights was a charity gig that raised $240 to support abused children. This event not only helped a worthy cause but also brought the band closer to the community.

The band also had the chance to meet and collaborate with some talented new friends. Shout out to Slleepaways and Atomic Wranglers, two groups that impressed the Rats with their energy and creativity. These connections are important for growth and inspiration, and they hint at exciting future collaborations.

Recording was another major focus. The New York Rats worked on a new three-sided single, a unique format that showcases their evolving sound. The sessions were full of fun and experimentation, capturing the raw spirit that fans love. This new release promises to bring fresh energy to their setlist and live shows.

Preparing for April’s Challenges and Opportunities

Looking ahead, the band is not slowing down. April will be a month of preparation and new material. The Rats are heading back to practice to work on two new songs they want to add to their setlist. These tracks will bring variety and keep the live experience fresh for audiences.

One key date to mark is April 24th, when the New York Rats will perform at Otto’s Shrunken Head. This venue is a must-play spot for punk bands in New York, known for its intimate atmosphere and passionate crowds. The band is focused on delivering a powerful show that lives up to the venue’s reputation.

In addition to live performances, the band is planning to shoot a video for one of their new releases. This project will require careful preparation and creativity to capture the essence of their music visually. Fans can look forward to seeing a new side of the Rats through this upcoming video.

Staying Connected with Fans and Supporters

The New York Rats appreciate the support they receive from fans and the local music scene. Every show, every recording session, and every collaboration is fueled by this connection. The band encourages everyone to come out to their gigs and be part of the experience.

Supporting local music means more than just attending shows. It’s about sharing the music, spreading the word, and building a community where artists and fans thrive together. The Rats are committed to this spirit and invite everyone to join them on this journey.
